About Artifacts -

My pieces, comprised of seemingly disparate man-made objects, are more than a composition. They are metaphors of the human condition, both micro and macro.

Some reflect the internal struggles of anxiety, despair and hope within each of us. While others speak to societal struggles of power, hubris and survival. They are both complimentary, contradictory, and universal.

At their core, they are probably Assemblage, but I view them as abstract sculpture. I call them Artifacts. But whatever the moniker, I am inspired by the ideas and approaches of Anselm Kiefer, Louise Nevelson, Thornton Dial and Marcel Duchamp.
